Anna Sophie Rostkowski passed away Sunday April 10, 2005 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center, where she'd been a resident since January. Born in Schenectady on April 2, 1916, she was the daughter of Alexander and Antonina (Tomaszewski) Rostkowski. Ms. Rostkowski was a life long resident of Schenectady. She was a waitress for many years, and then went to work as the housekeeper for 18 years at St Mary's Catholic Church rectory. She was a communicant and a member of the churches rosary society. Anna was predeceased by her son Alexander Baumgartner, who died in December of 1981; her parents, who both died in 1963; two brothers, Peter and John Rostkowski and three sisters; Mary Anna Rostkowski, Stanislawa "Stella" Cusano and Veronica "Vicky" DeVoe. Survivors include a daughter, Helen J. Harlow and husband Elwyn of Rotterdam; two granddaughters, Terry L. Harlow and husband Robert Schoen of New York City and Kristy M. Losee and husband John of Rotterdam, one great grandson Christopher Losee of Rotterdam and three sisters; Sister Marcella C.R. Sister of the Resurrection at Mt. Loretto, Amsterdam, Helen Rostkowski of Niskayuna and Mary Dunn of Duanesburg and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning April 14, 2005 at 8:45 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady followed at 9:30 am at St Mary's Church, Eastern Avenue, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening April 13, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm. Internment in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Mary's Church in Schenectady in her memory.
