It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and sister, Ann Marie Pirrera (née Badagliacca), who departed this life at her home on March 10, 2026, at the age of 78. Ann Marie was known for her charity and kindness toward others, her love of reading, and her dedication to various charitable works. She also had remarkable skills in crafting, including sewing, knitting, and crochet. Ann Marie will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her family asks that she be remembered for the love she brought into the lives of others rather than for the sadness of her passing. She was the wife of the late Captain Alexander Pirrera, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Ann Marie is survived by her children, Michael, Suzanne, and Andrew, as well as her grandson, Leonardo, and her sister, Joanna Badagliacca, of Lexington, KY. Born and raised in Queens Village, NY, Ann Marie graduated from Mater Christi High School, where she met and later married Alexander.
May Ann Marie forever rest in God's Peace, Love and Joy. Forever in our hearts. A burial service will be held at the U.S. National Cemetery in Saratoga Springs on Monday, March 16, at 2 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
