Angelo Di Sorbo 86 formerly of 4th Street, Schenectady died Thursday November 8th at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital in Albany after a short illness. Born in Italy, Angelo was the son of the late Nicholas Di Sorbo and Rose Falzerano Di Sorbo Calverese. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, he attended Union College and was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Angelo worked for GE Flight Test for over 19 years and later retired from Large Steam Turbine in 1981. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Usher and Charter member of the Parish Council and Holy Name Society. Angelo was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society the Knights of Columbus Council 201 the Quarter Century of the GE and a charter member of the Board of the Schenectady Community Action Program. Angelo was predeceased in 1990 by his 1st wife Claire (Daigle) Di Sorbo and a daughter Angela Di Sorbo in 2005. He is survived by his wife Gladys Northrup Di Sorbo who he married in May of 1992, his children, Nicholas J. Di Sorbo (Jamie) of Garner, NC, Philip G. Di Sorbo (Cindy) of Ghent, NY, Paula Borchardt(Howard) of Schenectady, Pamela Panos of Schodack, NY, Shelly Mantello of Schenectady and Janet Shay (Jimmy) of Danielson, CN, a step-son Daniel Northrup (Christine) of Saratoga, 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 12th at 9:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Bradt St., Schenectady where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 to 7 pm.
