Angelina “Angie” Conte
June 12, 1935-June 2, 2026A woman of strength, faith, and service
With unwavering determination and a generous spirit, Angelina Conte has lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and deep care for others.
Born Yolanda Polata, Angie was adopted from St. Joseph’s Home in Troy, NY at a young age by loving parents, Josephine and Angelo Ciccarelli: Italian immigrants who instilled in her the values of hard work, faith, and family. From humble beginnings selling vegetables as a child, she developed a strong sense of purpose and a remarkable work ethic that carried through every season of her life.
Angie had a quick sense of humor and a unique ability to make people feel seen and cared for. She could make you laugh when you least expected it, feed you when you didn’t ask, and offer love and loyalty with quiet consistency. In high school, she was proud to be voted "Class Clown"; a reflection of her wit and joyful spirit. But her true gift was her ability to connect with others and offer practical support.
As a young woman, she worked as a candy striper, where her deep empathy and sense of service began to shine and continued care for elders and the infirmed through work as a CNA; her daughters carry on as a nurse and doctor.
Over the years, Angie went on to become a successful businesswoman in real estate, managing her properties with fairness, kindness, and integrity. Her tenants were never just tenants — they were people she treated with respect, fairness and compassion.
Angie’s life was one of giving, dedicating herself to serving others, both publicly and privately. She served as the Fulton Elementary School PTA president, advocating for the children. As emcee with the Jack Ferrara Entertainers, she supported children and teen performers who brought joy to nursing homes and hospitals through music and laughter. Behind the scenes, she quietly served her Catholic parish, bringing the Eucharist to Ellis Hospital patients and homebound elders, offering prayers for friends and strangers alike, and living her faith with consistency and humility.
A devout Catholic, Angelina's prayer life was a source of strength and solace. She believed deeply in the power of prayer and the importance of being present for others — especially those often overlooked.
While she gave generously of herself, she also valued her solitude. A deeply private woman, she found peace in quiet reflection, prayer, and the simple rhythms of daily life.
Angie was married for 61 years to Vincent M. Conte of Hudson, New York, a hardworking and faithful husband. Their marriage was strong, spirited, and enduring — built on shared values, lively conversation, and a lasting commitment to one another and their family. Together, they raised three children and built a life grounded in faith, perseverance, and mutual respect.
As a mother, Angie was protective, principled, and devoted. She held her children to high standards, encouraging each of them to reach their full potential. Her influence is reflected in the lives they’ve built — as a doctor, a nurse, and an engineer — and in the values they carry forward. Angelina Conte is survived by her children: Josie Conte and her husband Nick Heller of Maine, Vince Conte and his wife Donna of Vermont, Angela Conte of New York.
She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Allie Heller and her husband John Bailey Cox, Maxim Heller, and Amber Conte and fiancé Damien Nieve. She had the great fortune of meeting and connecting with her great granddaughter, Maeve Juniper Cox.
Angie was a woman of strength, conviction, and faith. She lived with dignity, gave generously, and never wavered from what she believed was right. Her life is a reminder that one can be strong and kind, private yet present, determined yet compassionate.
She passed peacefully at home on June 2nd, 2026 with family present. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched — and in the hearts of those who knew her best.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
