Andrew J Pardus

Andrew J. Pardus, 94, of Rotterdam passed away at Ellis Hospital on Wednesday May 3, 2017. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Grigerek) Pardus. Andrew was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. Andrew served his country in the US Navy and was very proud, that he crossed the equator 33 times during his time in the service. He was employed for the Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna as a technician in Ultra Sonic testing from 1942-1985. Andrew was a member of the former St. Cyril and Method Church in Schenectady. He was an active member of the Rotterdam Elks 2157 where he played bocci and loved to dance. He also belonged to the VFW 1895, the Schenectady County Sheriff's Association and the GE Quarter Century Club. Besides his parents, Andrew is predeceased by his wife Helen G. (Moulton) Pardus, his son Gordon Pardus and four brothers and two sisters. Andrew is survived by his daughter Shelley Abblett (Donald) of Clearwater Fl., two grandchildren Michelle Pardus and Jesse Pardus as well as one great grandchild Savanna Pardus and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Andrew will be Monday May, 8, 2017 at 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 12-1PM.
