Alice D. Winig 79 of Schenectady passed away at Ellis Hospital Long Term Care after a long illness. Born in North Adams, MA, she was the daughter of the late Blake and Lura (Jones) Vogel. Alice was the former owner and operator of various Restaurants in the area including the Chateau Inn Restaurant and night club in Stanford, NY for many years She was also a self employed ceramic teacher, a member and spokesperson for the enriched housing program at the Ten Eyke Apartments and V.P. of the presidents Council of Ellis Hospital Residential and Rehabilitation Center. Alice was predeceased in the early 1980's by her husband James Winig and was also predeceased by her brother Blake Vogel. She is survived by a daughter, four cousins; Cheryl and Bill Payne and Fern and John Weber both of Guilderland, Helen and Wayne Sagendorf of Schenevus, NY and Robert and MaryAnn Kessling of Tallahassee, Fl. and several other cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday afternoon August 24, 2007 at 1 pm at Lynnwood Reformed Church, Carman Road, Guilderland, NY. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland, NY. Contributions may be made in her memory to Community Hospice, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
