Alfred C. Jones ( Jonsey), 78, of Broadway, Schenectady died Tuesday February 13, 2007 at the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia after a long illness. Alfred was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Alfred and Gertrude (Meyers) Jones. He served in the US Army from 1954-56. Alfred was employed for many companies as a Truck Driver, after which he was employed as a Crane Operator for the General Electric Company in Schenectady until his retirement in 1992. Alfred was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and was a Shop Steward for Local 301. He was a dedicated worker and never missed work. Alfred loved animals and the outdoors. He was a simple man and was very likable. Alfred is predeceased by two sisters Shirley Anastos and Beverly Broman. He is survived by one son Alfred Jones (Roberta) of Galway and three daughters Lisa Brown (Joseph) of Schenectady, Angel M. Watson of Broadalbin and Sherry Prince of Schenectady, two brothers Dale Jones of Cohoes and Bruce Jones of Arizona, three sisters Joyce Hook of Utica, Gail VanTora of Arizona and Betty Southwick of Kinderhook, 5 Grandchildren-Lisa Wiltey, London Teeling, Rochelle Prince, Nonia Lloyd and Michael Prince also survived by 2 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday 10AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Thursday evening 6-8PM at the Funeral Home. Internment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie. Contribution's can be made in Alfred's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation 53 Maple Avenue Scotia, NY 12302.
