Alexander Loika

Alexander Loika 77, passed away on Sunday evening at his son’s home in Rotterdam, NY.

Born in Schenectady, Alexander was the son of the late Anthony Loika and the Late Sarah (Potter) Briggs.

A carpenter for more than 20 years, Alexander was a member of the Carpenters Union and was Landlord of several properties in the Schenectady area.

Beside his parents, Alexander was also predeceased by his brother Anthony Loika and half-brother Robert Briggs.

He is survived by his children, Brian S. Loika (Linda) and Valerie Loika (Kord Stehr) both of Rotterdam, his grandchildren Ashley Welcome (Mike) and Nathan Loika, great grandchildren, Riley and Madison Welcome, his brother, Francis Polomaine (Linda) and half brothers, Joe and Don Briggs and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30th at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening September 29th from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Interment in Memory’s Garden in Colonie, NY.
